About Kmoang
Most writing about home hardware is done by people who never plugged the device in. You get a list of settings copied from a manufacturer's help page, a paragraph of filler, and an affiliate link. Nothing was measured, and nobody lived with the thing.
Kmoang exists to do the boring part: actually watch what the hardware does. We run our own home network — a self-hosted server, our own DNS and domains, our own routers and switches — and that setup doubles as a test bench. When we say a device phones home every four minutes, it is because we captured the traffic and counted. When we say a feature is not worth it, it is because we used it for months.
What we cover

- What your devices actually send — smart TVs, speakers, cameras, and anything else that shows up on your network uninvited.

Who this is for
People who own the devices but are not network engineers. You should not need a packet analyzer to find out whether your television is watching you back, or a month of trial and error to find the one setting that fixes it. That is our job. Your job is to decide what to do about it.
How we work
We use automation and AI tools to research topics and produce first drafts. Nothing is published from a draft alone. Every article is reviewed and corrected by a person before it goes live, and any claim about what a device does is checked against a measurement we took ourselves, or clearly labelled as coming from someone else's testing.
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix the article and say what changed rather than quietly editing it. If you spot an error, tell us — corrections are the fastest way to make this site more useful.
